About Best Waterproof Boots
Thanks for stopping by my About page! My name is Mike, and I run the site here: bestwaterproofboots.co.uk.
Like many of you out there, I’ve “made do” with a selection of trainers, wellies and the like for years. That was until we got a husky. For those of you who don’t know, huskies need a lot of walking, and in all weathers! A few hours a day is normal, and this is heavy-going on the footwear. I tried a smart pair of Hunters, and they lasted about a year. It was then I found myself looking for a good pair of boots online, and what I found was an awful lot of information and options! In fact, it was so much information, that I felt a bit overwhelmed.
I wanted something where I could compare prices, ratings, styles, and more in an easy to read and use format. Now, while there are a lot of lists or youtube videos from people sharing what their opinions of what the best boots on the market is; I saw these as just that… opinions.
“We don’t believe you should ever have to sacrifice quality for price.”
Why a Waterproof Boots Blog?
I appreciate opinions, but I also like looking at the cold hard facts and making direct comparisons of the boots in question. Dissatisfied with the lack of comparison guides for Waterproof Boots out there, I decided to create my own. After spending many hours of research and analysis, I’ve put together what I call the Ultimate Boot Guide! It’s a complete interactive chart that allows you to view the information you want to see on the most popular boots on the market.
Whether you are looking for boots before a hiking trip, or wellies for walking the dog – choosing the right waterproof boots can make your outdoor experience a joyful, rewarding one. Many factors are significant: from your physical build, gender, and weight; right down to the gait of the way you walk are all contributing and possibly conflicting demands upon the footwear. Such factors will all require different help from your footwear to support and protect you. In addition to all of this, the manufacturers are constantly developing new technologies and improvements and the available information can be a little overwhelming.
My goal with the site here is to give you the information you need in an easy to digest format so that you can make the best possible buying decision based on what matters to YOU. Yes, I’ll be providing my own opinions and input along the way, but when it comes right down to it, you might be more concerned with price than the width of the leg. I’m based in the UK, and have based my research on what I know and love: how well will these boots fare dog walking, leaping about in farm yards, festivals or simply hiking in muddy National Trust trails across the South Downs to the Lake District.
As I do more research, I’ll be providing in-depth reviews of boots, videos of my own tests with different boots, and more comparative analysis.
In short, I hope my site here will help you find the Best Waterproof Boots for you.
